Dr. Mason is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, who joined Orthopaedic Associates in August, 2005. He grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Allegheny College where he graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
His medical training began at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1984. He completed his internship at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio in 1985. His four year residency was completed in 1991 at Doctors Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Mason also completed an AO fellowship in Sports Medicine and Trauma in Bern, Switzerland.
Dr. Mason’s career in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine began in 1991 while serving in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel. He served in many capacities including Orthopedic Consultant to the Command Surgeon, Chief of Surgery and Chief of Orthopedics eventually completing his service in 1997.
Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1993, Dr. Mason was subsequently asked to become an examiner for both the oral and clinical Board Certification examinations.
Dr. Mason’s interest outside of medicine include golf, basketball and traveling.
