Dr. Michas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from Florida State University and his medical degree from UHS / The Chicago Medical School. After a surgical internship he completed his residency program where he served as Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University Medical Center.
Dr. Michas is particularly interested in orthopaedic sports medicine with a focus on injuries and ailments of the knees and shoulders as well as fractures and other general musculoskeletal conditions. He is board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Medical Association of Georgia as well as other national, state and local orthopaedic societies. Dr. Michas initially practiced in his home state of Florida before relocating to Southwest Georgia and joining Orthopaedic Associates in August 1999.
Residing in Lee County with his wife and three sons, Dr. Michas enjoys water sports, weight training and supporting his Florida State Seminoles.
